Bladen County Schools see good report with 2015-16 School Grades

BladenCountySchoollogoBladen County Schools saw improvement in the 2015-16 school grades. In the 2014-15 academic year, North Carolina began to assign the state’s schools letter grades with 80 percent of  a school’s grade consisting of a school’s overall achievement and student progress such as graduation rates, test scores and readiness for work. The rest of a school’s score is made up of student growth.

The overall school district performance showed many of Bladen County’s 13 schools either improving their grades or holding steady in the 2015-16 academic year. No school dropped below their 2014-15 score. 

Booker T. Washington Primary improved to a “C” grade for 2015-16  from a “D” grade in 2014-15;

Bladen Lakes Primary remained steady at a “C” grade for the third consecutive academic year.

Bladenboro Middle School remained steady at a “D” grade for the third consecutive year.

Bladenboro Primary School saw their grade remain at a “C” grade for the third consecutive year.

Clarkton School of Discovery saw their grade remain steady at a “C” for the second year.

Dublin Primary saw their grade remain steady at a “C” for the third consecutive year.

East Arcadia Elementary saw their grade remain steady at a “D” for the third consecutive year.

Elizabethtown Middle School saw a significant improvement in their grade. They earned a “C” grade for the 2015-16 year drastically improving over an “F” grade in 2014-15.

Elizabethtown Primary School held steady at a “C” grade for the third consecutive year.

Plain View Primary improved to a “C” grade for the 2015-16 year from a “D” grade in 2014-15.

Tar Heel Middle School improved to a “C” grade fro the 2015-16 year from a “D” grade in 2014-15.

East Bladen High School improved to a “C” grade in 2015-16 from a “D” grade in 2014-15.

West Bladen High School held steady at a “C” grade for the third consecutive year.

The Paul R. Brown Leadership Academy held steady at a “D” grade for the second straight year and the Columbus Charter School received a “C” grade for 2015-16 after earning a “B” grade for the 2014-15 year.
