Two people have lost their lives in the flooding near Clarkton, NC Highway Patrol First Sgt. Matthew Hardee confirmed.
Sgt. Hardee said that three people were initially in the vehicle and were traveling on Rosindale Road near Old Tram Road when they were washed into the creek. Sgt. Hardee said one person was able to escape from the vehicle and summon help.
Sgt. Hardee added that motorists are asked to stay of the roadways and only travel if absolutely necessary.
