The Elizabethtown Smart Start Center on David Street in Elizabethtown experienced a problem with the HVAC system on Wednesday afternoon leading to a brief evacuation of the facility, according to Chase Lancaster with Bladen County Emergency Services.
Lancaster said, “All of the occupants of the building had already been evacuated when we arrived.”
There was no fire and no one was injured, said Lancaster.
Responding to assist were Elizabethtown Fire Department, Clarkton Fire Department, White Lake Fire Department, Dublin Fire Department, Bladen County EMS, Elizabethtown Police Department, Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
